Microsoft has rolled out the update for its Windows 10 OS – the Windows 10 v2004 , for end users. This update includes many features that can boost work flow, productivity, accessibility and provide ease of work. Few security problems are fixed to ensure secure environment of OS.

Below is a brief list of updates available in Win10 v2004 :

Sharing the documents, webpages and Cortana notebook between your mobile and PC ( using Microsoft Launcher, Edge, Cortana respectively ) helps availing the services irrespective of the device you are currently using.

Cortana now has chat-based service on Windows – Cortana as your productivity assistant now gives most of it by responding to your type or speech requests through a resizable, draggable and convenient window to stay in touch with you all the time you need.

Improving your Bluetooth pairing experience – Now the connectivity of compatible bluetooth devices to Windows PC is quickly accessible from the notifications menu instead of accessing from Settings to manage those devices.

Windows Hello Sign-in for Microsoft Accounts – An extra layer of security is added by allowing biometric( face , fingerprint ) or PIN authentication to sign-in to PC using the Microsoft account.

PUA blocking – Windows App & browser control warns you about Potentially unwanted apps on your PC and lets you control to continue use of that app or not.

Customizing your Virtual desktops – Virtual desktops which give power to use desktops beyond physical availability can now be renamed into more descriptive names ( with emojis, kaomojis ) you wish.

Low memory usage by Microsoft Edge – Windows is implementing its segmentation heap algorithm for the browser app which benefits in reduced memory usage by Edge, though the percentage of usage reduced depends on the configuration and usage of the browser.

Modified Notepad – Wrap-around find/replace is added to find dialog that can now keep track of previously entered text and checkbox status when you open in future. Quick autofill of selected text in find dialog, text-zooming, unsaved indication with * on title bar, default visibility of status bar having columns as line numbers with word-wrap, encoding type of document are mighty improvements in the text-editor.

Cloud recovery – Previously, Reset this PC was only able to do a local reinstall and would build a new Windows installation from existing Windows files. Microsoft says, “The cloud download option will reinstall the same build, version, and edition, that is currently installed on your device. This new cloud download option is available to all Windows 10 devices and is different from the ‘Recover from the cloud’ feature available on some earlier Windows 10 devices.”
